Why This Reference Exists
Printed directory volumes no longer provide a complete Town of Union listing, yet the records behind many questions still exist. Broome County property and land records, Town assessment material, the State voter self-check, and library directory films each answer a different part of the question. Former residents may appear under Endwell, Endicott, Johnson City, Lestershire, or Union labels. The purpose here is to point researchers toward the right search tool, office counter, collection, and access rule without presenting a private database as an official roll.
What the Directory Organizes
- Searches by question: the Streets route for address-keyed material, the City Directory shelf for historic listings, and the Resident Lookup route for one-person verification
- Custodian details: Town Assessor, Town Clerk, Broome County Clerk, Board of Elections, court clerk, and library local-history contacts
- Research methods: parcel-to-deed work, directory reading, historical place-name checks, and careful comparisons across dated sources
- Access boundaries: New York FOIL routing, confidential records, and the appropriate fallback when a record is not online
Limits of This Service
This is a privately operated reference, not a Town of Union office, Broome County department, New York agency, court, or library. Important limits include:
- We cannot confirm whether a specific person currently lives in Town of Union
- We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
- We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
- We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
- We cannot guarantee that every link, coverage statement, office hour, or portal feature remains current
Only the office that keeps a record can certify, correct, or conclusively confirm it. This reference must not be used for any FCRA-regulated decision.
